As read out during the recent Awards Ceremony - Annie passes on her thanks for the nomination:
I'm incredibly honored to receive the 2026 Rotary Areas of Focus Alumni Award for Protecting the Environment.So much of my work has been about trying to connect people to the natural world through adventure, storytelling and community action - whether that's fundraising for native forest regeneration, using expeditions to raise awareness for environmental issues, or simply encouraging people to spend more time outside and care for the places they love.
This recognition means a great deal to me, especially coming from an organisation with such a long history of community impact and service. Rotary has been profoundly impactful in my life, particularly around developing the skillset and confidence to advocate for our environment.
